MXR M82

MXR Bass Envelope Filter M82 Instruction Manual

Modelo: M82 | Marca: MXR

Introducción

The MXR Bass Envelope Filter M82 is an analog effect pedal designed specifically for bass guitar, delivering classic envelope filter sounds. It features independent controls for dry and effect signals, allowing for precise blending without sacrificing low-end frequencies. The pedal's wide range of filter tones can be adjusted using the Decay and Q controls, while the Sensitivity knob adapts the pedal's response to your playing dynamics and bass type (passive or active). Built with robust power supply circuitry for protection against voltage issues and true-bypass switching to maintain signal integrity, the M82 is housed in a durable, compact aluminum enclosure.

Guía de configuración

Encendido del pedal

The MXR Bass Envelope Filter M82 requires an external 9-volt DC power adapter (e.g., Dunlop ECB003) with a center-negative polarity. This pedal does not have an internal battery compartment. Ensure the power source meets the pedal's requirements to prevent damage.

Conectando tu pedal

  3. Connect a 9-volt power adapter to the 9V conector de entrada de alimentación

Controles sobreview

Perilla SECO:
Controls the volume of your unaffected, direct bass signal. Use this to retain your instrument's natural low-end and blend it with the effect.
Perilla de efectos:
Controls the volume of the envelope filter effect signal. Adjust this to determine how prominent the filter sound is in your mix.
Perilla DECAY:
Adjusts the speed at which the filter sweep closes. Turning it clockwise results in a slower, longer sweep, while counter-clockwise settings produce a faster, snappier sweep.
Perilla Q:
Determines the intensity or resonance of the filter effect. Higher 'Q' settings create a more pronounced, vocal-like "wah" sound, while lower settings are more subtle.
Perilla de SENSIBILIDAD:
Sets the threshold for the envelope filter's response to your playing dynamics. Adjust this to match your bass's output level (passive or active) and your picking/plucking attack. Turning it clockwise increases sensitivity, making the filter react to lighter playing.
INTERRUPTOR DE PIE:
Toggles the effect on and off. The adjacent LED illuminates when the effect is active.

Achieving Desired Tones

  • Funk Tones: Start with high Sensitivity, moderate Q, and a fast Decay. Adjust Dry/FX to taste.
  • Subtle Filter: Use lower Q and Sensitivity settings, with a higher Dry mix.
  • Long Sweeps: Increase the Decay knob for a slower, more drawn-out filter movement.
  • Experiment with the Sensitivity knob to find the sweet spot where the filter responds naturally to your playing style and instrument's output.

Mantenimiento

  • Limpieza: Utilice un paño suave y seco para limpiar el exterior del pedal. Evite limpiadores abrasivos o disolventes.
  • Almacenamiento: Guarde el pedal en un ambiente seco, alejado de temperaturas extremas y humedad.
  • Fuente de alimentación: Always use a regulated 9V DC power supply with a center-negative polarity. Using an incorrect power supply can damage the unit.
  • Conexiones: Asegúrese de que todos los cables estén conectados de forma segura para evitar la pérdida de señal o el funcionamiento intermitente.
