5. Mantenimiento

5.1. Cuidado de la batería

The device is powered by a lithium-ion battery. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to keep the battery charged. If the device is not used for extended periods, charge the battery every 1-2 months to prevent degradation.

5.2. Limpieza del cabezal de impresión

To maintain print quality, periodically clean the print head. Turn off the printer and let it cool for a few seconds. Take the tape roll out and put it aside. Use a clean small cotton swab (the print head space is narrow) to dip a little ethanol to wipe the dirt on the surface of the print head. Do not scrape the print head with hard objects.

6. Solución de problemas

6.1. La impresora no se conecta

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and properly connected via USB.
  • Verify that the built-in software launches automatically. If not, try restarting your computer or reconnecting the USB cable.
  • Check your computer's operating system compatibility (Windows 7+ or Mac OS X v10.8+).

6.2. Printout Blurry or Faint

  • Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. If the printer's power light indicates low charge, charge the printer for at least half an hour before use.
  • The print head may be dirty or sticky. Refer to the cleaning instructions in Section 5.2.
  • Increase the printing concentration settings within the software, if available.

6.3. Label Tape Not Feeding or Printing Correctly

  • Ensure the label tape cassette is correctly inserted and the cover is closed.
  • Check for any obstructions in the tape path.
  • If the tape is sticky or the cutter is jammed, use cotton swabs to clean any excessive glue or debris.
  • Some users have reported issues with specific tape cartridges; try a different authentic DYMO D1 tape cassette if problems persist.
