2. Componentes y funciones del producto

The Geekpure C-RO3-100G filter set consists of three distinct stages, each performing a critical function in the water purification process:

  1. PP Sediment Cartridge (1st Stagmi): This filter reduces particulate materials such as sand, silt, and rust from the water. It acts as the first line of defense, protecting subsequent filters.
  2. Carbon Filter (2nd Stagmi): This filter is designed to reduce chlorine, unpleasant tastes, and odors, along with very fine particulates, improving the overall quality and taste of the water.
  3. RO Membrane (3rd Stagmi): The Reverse Osmosis membrane is the core of the system, capable of reducing up to 99% of total dissolved minerals, arsenic, lead, fluoride, mercury, cadmium, and other contaminants.

Reverse Osmosis Membrane Detail

The RO membrane utilizes a multilayer rolling design for efficient water purification. It has a micron rating of 0.0001, allowing it to remove a wide range of contaminants. The typical wastewater ratio for this system is 1:2, meaning approximately 2 gallons of wastewater are produced for every gallon of pure water.

5. Instalación y configuración

Follow these guidelines during installation to ensure proper function and prevent leaks:

  • It is recommended to wait until the entire system is pressurized and re-check for any leaks before finalizing the installation.
  • Before using the filters to feed your aquarium, flush the filters for 30 minutes. This helps remove any manufacturing residues.
  • It is normal for some black carbon fines to appear when flushing the carbon filter initially. This will clear up with continued flushing.
  • When connecting tubing, push it all the way in to ensure a secure fit. Use Teflon tape on threaded connections to prevent leaks.

6. Mantenimiento y reemplazo de filtros

Regular maintenance, including timely filter replacement, is crucial for the continued efficiency and safety of your reverse osmosis system. The lifespan of filter cartridges depends on usage amount and feed water quality.

  • PP Sediment Cartridge: Reemplazar cada 6-12 meses.
  • Filtro de carbón: Reemplazar cada 6-12 meses.
  • Membrana de ósmosis inversa: Reemplazar cada 15-24 meses.

Always flush new filters as described in the Installation section after replacement.
