3.2 Funciones de la válvula de 6 vías

The 6-way valve allows you to select different operating modes for your sand filter. Always turn off the pump before changing the valve position.

  • Filtración: This is the standard operating mode for filtering and cleaning the pool water.
  • Resaca: Reverses the water flow through the filter to clean the filter media. This should be done when the pressure gauge indicates high pressure.
  • Enjuague: Used for initial cleaning of the sand upon first use and to level the sand after a backwash cycle.
  • Desperdiciar: Allows for direct vacuuming to waste, lowering the pool water level, or draining the pool. Water bypasses the filter media.
  • Recircular: Circulates pool water without passing it through the filter media. Useful for chemical distribution without filtration.
  • Cerrado: Closes all water inlets to the filter and the pool. Use this setting when performing maintenance on the pump or filter.

4. Mantenimiento

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your Intex sand filter pump.

4.1 Filter Media Replacement

The sand filter media should be replaced approximately every 5 years. If using filter glass media, replacement is recommended every 9 years. Refer to the setup section for instructions on how to access and replace the media.

4.2 Pre-Filter Basket Cleaning

The pump includes a pre-filter basket to capture larger debris before it reaches the sand filter. Regularly check and clean this basket to maintain optimal water flow and prevent pump strain.

  • Turn off the pump and close all valves to the pool.
  • Open the pre-filter housing and remove the basket.
  • Empty and rinse the basket thoroughly.
  • Replace the basket and secure the housing.

  • Check skimmer basket: Ensure the pool skimmer basket is clean and free of debris.
  • Backwash filter: If the pressure gauge reads high, the filter media may be dirty. Perform a backwash and rinse cycle.
  • Inspect hoses: Look for kinks or blockages in the hoses connecting the pump to the pool and filter.

5.2 Pump Not Starting

  • Fuente de alimentación: Ensure the pump is properly plugged into a functional electrical outlet. Check circuit breakers.
  • Paneles digitales: Verify the digital panel is powered on and not displaying any error codes.
  • Air lock: If the pump is dry, it may have an air lock. Prime the pump by ensuring the pump housing is full of water before starting.
