Configuración e instalación

The Geekpure RO system is designed for under-sink installation. The system comes with high-quality quick connect fittings and color-coded tubing to simplify the installation process. While professional installation is not required, careful attention to detail is crucial to prevent leaks.

Comprobaciones previas a la instalación:

  • Asegúrese de que todos los componentes estén presentes y sin daños.
  • Verify feed water conditions: Pressure 40-100 PSI, Temperature 40-110°F (5-45°C), pH 3.0-11.0, Max TDS 2000 PPM.
  • The storage tank is pre-pressurized between 5-7 PSI.

Pasos de instalación (Información general)view):

  1. Monte la unidad principal: Secure the main filter unit under your sink in a suitable location.
  2. Instalar grifo: Drill a hole (if necessary) and install the dispensing faucet on your countertop or sink.
  3. Connect Feed Water: Use the feed water diverter valve to connect the system to your cold water supply.
  4. Instalación del soporte de drenaje: Attach the drain saddle to the drain pipe to dispose of wastewater.
  5. Conecte la tubería: Follow the color-coded tubing guide to connect all filters, the storage tank, faucet, and drain saddle. Ensure tubing is pushed all the way into quick connect fittings and secured with clips.
  6. UV Filter Connection: Connect the UV filter and its electronic ballast according to the specific instructions provided for the UV unit.
  7. Comprobación de fugas: After completing all connections, slowly turn on the water supply. Carefully check all connections for leaks. It is recommended to wait until the entire system is pressurized (including the storage tank and faucet) and re-check for any leaks before leaving the installation site.
  8. Descarga inicial: The first two tanks of water produced should be emptied and not used. It is normal for some black carbon fines to appear in the water during this initial flushing period.

Instrucciones de funcionamiento

Once installed and flushed, your Geekpure RO system will continuously produce purified water. The system has a capacity of 75 gallons per day at 60 PSI.

Producción de agua:

The system operates automatically. As water is drawn from the faucet, the storage tank pressure drops, and the system begins to produce more purified water to refill the tank. The UV filter operates continuously, 24/7, ensuring consistent water purity.

Proporción de aguas residuales:

Reverse osmosis is a purification process that produces a small amount of wastewater. For this system, approximately two gallons of wastewater will be produced for every gallon of pure water. This is a normal and necessary part of the RO filtration process.

Calidad del agua:

The system significantly reduces Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). You can use a TDS meter to monitor the water quality. Ideal drinking water from RO typically has very low TDS levels.

Mantenimiento

Regular maintenance, primarily filter replacement, is essential to ensure the continued high performance and longevity of your Geekpure RO system.

Calendario de reemplazo de filtros:

The following table outlines the recommended replacement intervals for each filter stage:

StageTipo de filtroVida útil recomendadaFunción
1ra StageFiltro de sedimentos PP6-12 mesesReduces silt, sand, dirt, sediment.
2do StageFiltro de carbón granular6-12 mesesReduces chlorine, odors, and taste.
3 ° StageFiltro de bloque de carbón6-12 mesesReduces chlorine, odors, and taste.
Cuarto StageMembranas de Osmosis Inversa15-20 mesesReduces total dissolved minerals.
Cuarto StageFiltro de carbón posterior12-15 mesesImproves water for refined taste.

Procedimiento de reemplazo del filtro:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the RO system.
  2. Close the tank ball valve.
  3. Abra el grifo de ósmosis inversa para aliviar la presión.
  4. Use the provided housing wrench to unscrew the filter housings.
No apriete demasiado.
  8. For the UV filter, carefully replace the UV lamp and quartz sleeve as per the specific UV unit instructions.
  9. Slowly turn on the water supply and open the tank ball valve.
  10. Check for leaks and perform an initial flush as described in the Setup section.

Solución de problemas

Esta sección aborda problemas comunes que puede encontrar con su sistema de ósmosis inversa.

Sin flujo de agua o flujo lento:

  • Comprobar el suministro de agua: Ensure the main water supply and the feed water diverter valve are fully open.
  • Válvula del tanque: Verify the tank ball valve is open.
  • Filtros obstruidos: Filters, especially the sediment filter and RO membrane, can become clogged over time. Replace filters according to the recommended schedule.
  • Baja presión de agua: Ensure your household water pressure is within the operating range (40-100 PSI).

Fugas:

  • Conexiones sueltas: Check all quick connect fittings. Ensure tubing is fully inserted and secured with clips.
  • Juntas tóricas: Inspect O-rings in filter housings for proper seating and damage. Apply food-grade silicone grease if necessary.
  • Cinta de teflón: For threaded connections, ensure sufficient Teflon tape was used during installation.
  • Cámara UV: If leaks occur around the UV chamber, ensure the silicone sleeve and O-rings are correctly positioned and sealed.

Poor Water Taste or Odor:

  • Filtros de carbón: Granular and Post Carbon filters remove taste and odor. Replace them if taste or odor issues persist.
  • Membrana de ósmosis inversa: A failing RO membrane can lead to poor water quality. Test TDS levels; if high, replace the membrane.
  • Descarga inicial: Ensure the initial two tanks of water were fully drained after installation.

UV Light Not Working:

  • Fuente de alimentación: Check if the electronic ballast is plugged in and receiving power.
  • ULTRAVIOLETA Lamp: Los rayos UV lamp has a limited lifespan (9000 hours). Replace it if it has expired or is visibly damaged.
  • Ballast Failure: Si el lamp is new and power is supplied, the electronic ballast may need replacement.
