1. Introducción e información de seguridad
Thank you for choosing the Wolf 25.4CC Petrol Chainsaw. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and care of your chainsaw. Please read and understand all instructions before operating the machine. Keep this manual for future reference.
1.1 Advertencias generales de seguridad
- Utilice siempre el equipo de protección individual (EPI) adecuado including a safety helmet, eye protection, hearing protection, heavy-duty gloves, safety trousers, and safety boots.
- Never operate the chainsaw when fatigued, under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
- Keep children, bystanders, and animals at a safe distance (at least 10 meters) from the work area.
- Inspect the chainsaw before each use for loose parts, damage, or wear. Do not operate a damaged chainsaw.
- Asegúrese de que haya una ventilación adecuada when operating the chainsaw, as exhaust fumes are toxic.
- Handle fuel with extreme care.

3. Configuración y montaje
3.1 Assembling the Guide Bar and Chain
- Ensure the engine is off and the spark plug cap is disconnected for safety.
- Place the guide bar onto the studs, ensuring the chain tension pin aligns with the hole in the guide bar.
- Carefully fit the saw chain around the sprocket and into the groove of the guide bar. Ensure the cutting edges of the chain are facing the correct direction.
- Replace the chain brake cover and hand-tighten the nuts.
- Adjust the chain tension using the tensioning screw. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no slack on the underside of the guide bar.
- Fully tighten the nuts to secure the chain brake cover and guide bar.
3.2 Fueling the Chainsaw
This chainsaw uses a 2-stroke petrol engine and requires a specific fuel mixture. Never use pure petrol.
- Tipo de combustible: Use unleaded petrol with an octane rating of 90 or higher.
- Proporción de mezcla: Refer to the chainsaw's label or manufacturer's recommendation for the exact petrol-to-oil ratio (e.g., 25:1 or 50:1). Use the provided fuel mixing bottle for accurate measurement.
- Procedimiento: Mix the fuel and oil thoroughly in a separate, approved fuel container. Pour the mixture into the chainsaw's fuel tank. Do not overfill.
- Aceite de cadena: Fill the chain oil reservoir with good quality chain lubricant. This is crucial for chain and bar longevity.
4. Operar la motosierra
4.1 Arranque del motor
- Place the chainsaw on a firm, flat surface. Ensure the chain brake is engaged (pushed forward).
- Set the choke lever to the 'closed' (cold start) position.
- Pull the starter cord firmly and steadily until the engine fires briefly (usually 1-3 pulls).
- Once it fires, move the choke lever to the 'open' (run) position.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments.
- Disengage the chain brake (pull back towards the handle) before cutting.
4.2 Cutting Techniques and Safety
- Mantenga un agarre firme on both handles with both hands.
- Stand with good balance and a wide stance.
- Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar to prevent kickback.
- Always be aware of falling branches and the direction of the cut.
- Clear the work area of obstacles and debris.
- Nunca opere la motosierra con una mano.
5. Mantenimiento
5.1 Mantenimiento diario
- Limpiar el filtro de aire: Remove and clean the air filter. Replace if damaged.
- Check chain tension: Ajústelo si es necesario.
- Inspect guide bar: Check for wear, burrs, and ensure the oil hole is clear.
- Sharpen chain: A sharp chain cuts efficiently and safely. Use a round file of the correct diameter for your chain.
- Clean the chainsaw: Remove sawdust and debris from the engine fins and chain brake mechanism.
5.2 Mantenimiento periódico
- Bujía: Inspect and clean the spark plug. Replace if worn or fouled.
- Filtro de combustible: Check and replace the fuel filter if clogged.
- Ajuste del carburador: If the engine runs poorly, consult a qualified service technician.
5.3 Almacenamiento
