Extreme ambient temperatures can reduce the service life of electronic components, deform plastic parts, or render the instrument unusable.
Handling the Instrument Carefully
Dropping the instrument may cause damage to the liquid crystal display, electronic components, or the casing.
Mantener limpio el instrumento
Use a piece of wet cloth dipped with a little detergent to wipe the shell of the instrument regularly. Do not use rough objects, chemical solutions, or alcohol.
Replacement of Protective Tube (Fuse)
- Remove the probes from the test point and shut down the power.
- Loosen the fixing screw and remove the back cover. The protective tube is located at the back of the test socket.
- Remove the burnt protective tube and replace it with a new one of the same specification: for 500mA current, use a 500mA/250V fuse; for 10A current, use a 10A/250V fuse.
- Vuelva a colocar la cubierta posterior y fíjela con tornillos.
8. Solución de problemas
If your instrument malfunctions, you may perform the following checks before seeking repair.
No Display on Screen, No Response from Buttons
- If there is no power supply, ensure the battery is not exhausted and is correctly installed.
- Turn the knob to the OFF position and then to a measurement position.
Not Measurable
Check the test leads for continuity (short-circuit them to test).
Current Cannot Be Measured
The fuse may be blown. Replace the fuse as described in the Maintenance section.
Reemplazo de batería
When the LCD displays a red battery icon, the battery should be replaced. The device uses 3 AA 1.5V batteries.
- Remove the test leads and set the rotary knob to "OFF". Open the battery cover and remove the old batteries (start with the middle battery).
- Replace with 3 new AA 1.5V batteries, installing the batteries on both sides first, then the middle. Replace the battery cover.
