5. Instrucciones de configuración

5.1. Cableado de la cámara

The SIMICAM IP Camera supports both Power over Ethernet (PoE) and DC 12V power supply. Ensure your network infrastructure (NVR or PoE Switch) is compatible with the chosen power method.

5.1.1. Working with PoE NVR

For PoE cameras, a single Ethernet cable connects the camera to the PoE NVR, providing both power and data transmission. The NVR then connects to a monitor (via HDMI or VGA) and your network (for remote viewEn g).

Figure 4: Wiring with PoE NVR

5.1.2. Working with PoE Switch

Alternatively, a PoE camera can be powered by a PoE switch. The camera connects to the PoE switch, which then connects to your NVR (if used) and router. The NVR (if used) connects to a monitor and its own power supply.

This setup also illustrates ONVIF compatibility with Dahua, Hikvision, and SIMICAM NVRs, and mobile app support for Android, iOS, and Windows.
Figure 5: Wiring with PoE Switch and ONVIF Compatibility

5.1.3. DC 12V Power Option

If not using PoE, the camera requires a 12V DC power adapter (not included) and an Ethernet connection to a router. PoE cameras can also be powered by 12V DC if a PoE NVR or switch is not used.

5.2. NVR Compatibility

The SIMICAM IP Camera supports ONVIF protocol versions 2.0-2.4, ensuring compatibility with NVRs from various brands including Dahua, Hikvision, and SIMICAM.

5.3. Initial IP Address Configuration

By default, the camera is set to DHCP to obtain an IP address automatically. For system settings, it is recommended to use the Windows IE browser. You may need to install a browser plug-in for the first visit.

To modify the camera's IP address, use the IPCBatchTool software. You can download it from www.vatilon.com (SERVICIO -> Descarga de software de cámara WIFI -> IPCBatchTool.zip).

  1. Conecte la cámara a su red.
  2. Launch the IPCBatchTool.
  3. Buscar the camera's IP.
  4. You can set a fixed IP for the camera. Ensure the camera's IP network segment is consistent with your NVR, computer, and LAN to avoid conflicts. For example, if your camera IP is 192.168.1.10, the network segment is "1", and all other devices on the network should also be in the "1" segment.

6. Instrucciones de funcionamiento

6.1. Accessing Camera Settings via Browser

To access the camera's settings, open Internet Explorer (IE) browser and enter the camera's IP address in the address bar. The default username is admin y la contraseña predeterminada es 123456. You may need to install a browser plug-in for the first visit.

6.2. Modos de visión nocturna

The camera offers several night vision modes:

  • Infrared Light On: Black and white video.
  • Luz blanca encendida: Full color video.
  • Dual Light Mode: Infrared light is on (black and white video) when no one is present. When motion is detected, the white light turns on, and the video becomes full color.

6.3. Grabación de audio

The camera features a built-in microphone, allowing it to record audio along with video. This provides authentic sound video recording for enhanced surveillance.

6.4. Compresión de vídeo (H.265)

The camera utilizes advanced H.265 video compression, which offers clearer HD resolution at a lower bit rate. This reduces file size by 40%-50%, saving storage space on your HDD and improving transmission speed compared to H.264.

6.5. Enhanced Image Features (HDR & 3DNR)

  • HDR (alto rango dinámico): Ensures important details are captured regardless of lighting conditions by automatically adjusting picture brightness for optimized, highly-detailed security video.
  • 3DNR (Digital Noise Reduction): Filters out noise from low-light settings and motion, providing a cleaner, more accurate image with better clarity, sharpness, and improved motion detection. It also reduces video file tamaños.

8. Solución de problemas

Q: Cannot connect to the camera via mobile app (Watilon).
A: Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same local Wi-Fi network as the camera, and that mobile data is turned off. Verify that the camera's IP network segment is consistent with your LAN. If the issue persists, try resetting the camera.
P: ¿Cuál es el nombre de usuario y la contraseña predeterminados?
R: El nombre de usuario predeterminado es admin y la contraseña predeterminada es 123456.
P: ¿Cómo realizar un restablecimiento de fábrica?
A: A factory reset can typically be initiated through the camera's web interface under System Manager > System Maintenance > Simple Recovery or Full Recovery. If you encounter difficulties, please contact technical support.
Q: Is the camera Wi-Fi enabled?
A: No, the camera uses an RJ45 Ethernet connection for connectivity and does not support Wi-Fi.
Q: Does the camera record to an SD card?
A: No, this model does not have internal storage for SD card recording. It is designed to record to an NVR or other network storage solutions.
Q: Can this camera be used with a DVR?
A: This is an IP camera and is designed to work with Network Video Recorders (NVRs), not Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) which typically use analog BNC connections.
Q: Can I use the camera without an NVR, just with a router and app?
A: Yes, you can connect the camera directly to a router via RJ45 and use the mobile app for live viewing. However, for 24/7 recording and advanced features, an NVR is recommended.

9. Consejos para el usuario

  • For optimal 4K resolution, ensure your NVR is also 4K compatible. If your NVR is 5MP/4MP/1080P, the camera's output will be limited to that resolution.
  • Always ensure the camera's IP network segment matches your local network for seamless discovery and connection, especially when using tools like IPCBatchTool or the mobile app.
  • Consider using a PoE NVR for a simpler setup with a single cable for power and data, and for reliable 24/7 recording.
  • Revise periódicamente la cámara. web interface for motion detection settings and email alarm configurations to ensure your surveillance system is active and sending alerts as desired.
