Its analog display provides readings via a moving needle on a calibrated scale.
Las características principales incluyen:
- Mide corriente CA hasta 1,000 AmpEres.
- Mide el volumen de CAtage hasta 600 voltios.
- Measures resistance up to 1,000 Ohms.
- Transformador clamp with a 1.88-inch (47 mm) jaw opening for non-contact current measurement.
- Needle lock function to secure readings.
- Broader operating temperature range compared to digital multimeters.
- Meets IEC 61010 safety standard for CAT IV 600V installations.
2. Información de seguridad
WARNING: To avoid electric shock or personal injury, read, understand, and follow all safety instructions and operating procedures before using this meter.
- The meter is rated for CAT IV 600V installations, which covers measurements at the source of the low-voltage suministro.
- A finger guard on the body of the meter helps protect fingers from shock.

- VA ZERO Knob: Adjusts the needle to zero for voltage/medidas de corriente.
- Ω ZERO Knob: Adjusts the needle to zero for resistance measurements.
- Interruptor selector de función/rango: Selects the measurement type (AC A, AC V, Ω) and range.
- A: Input terminal for current measurements (when using test leads, though primary current is via clamp).
- Protector de dedos: Provides protection against accidental contact with live circuits.
4. Configuración
4.1 Battery Installation (for Resistance Measurement)
The meter requires one 1.5V AAA battery (ANSI/NEDA-24A or IEC LR03) for resistance measurements. Current and voltage measurements do not require a battery.
- Insert one 1.5V AAA battery, observing correct polarity.
4.2 Fuse Installation (for Resistance Measurement)
Un 0.5 amp/1,000V fast-blow fuse is installed for resistance measurement protection.
- The fuse is typically pre-installed. If replacement is necessary, refer to the battery compartment access.
- Ensure the replacement fuse matches the specified rating (0.5A/1000V).
4.3 Conexión del cable de prueba
Por voltage and resistance measurements, connect the provided test leads:
- Inserte el cable de prueba negro en el COM terminal de entrada
- Inserte el cable de prueba rojo en el VΩ terminal de entrada
5. Instrucciones de funcionamiento
El Amprobe RS-1007 PRO is a manual-ranging meter, requiring the user to select the appropriate range for accurate measurements.
5.1 Medición de corriente alterna (Clamp Función)
This method measures current without breaking the circuit.
- Set the meter's function/range selector to the desired AC current range (e.g., 1000A).
- Press the jaw opening lever to open the clamp mandíbulas
- Read the AC current value on the analog display scale.
- If the needle goes off scale, select a higher range. If the reading is too low for accuracy, select a lower range if available.
Release to allow the needle to move freely again.
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 4.3 (black to COM, red to VΩ).
- Set the meter's function/range selector to the desired AC voltage range (e.g., 600V AC).
- Before connecting to the circuit, use the VA ZERO knob to ensure the needle is at zero.
- Carefully connect the test probes in parallel across the circuit or component to be measured.
- Lea el volumen de CAtage value on the analog display scale.
- If the needle goes off scale, select a higher range. If the reading is too low for accuracy, select a lower range if available.
5.3 Measuring Resistance and Continuity
Resistance measurements require the installed 1.5V AAA battery.
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 4.3 (black to COM, red to VΩ).
- Set the meter's function/range selector to the desired resistance range (e.g., Ω).
- Short the test leads together (touch the red and black probes).
- Utilice el Ω ZERO knob to adjust the needle to zero on the resistance scale.
- Disconnect power from the circuit or component to be measured.
- Read the resistance value on the analog display scale. A reading of zero or near zero indicates continuity.
- If the needle does not move, the resistance may be too high for the selected range, or the circuit is open.
6. Mantenimiento
6.1 Limpieza
If the meter fails to zero for resistance measurements, or if the resistance readings become inaccurate, replace the 1.5V AAA battery as described in Section 4.1.
6.3 Reemplazo de fusibles
If the resistance function ceases to operate, the 0.5 amp/1,000V fast-blow fuse may need replacement. Ensure the meter is disconnected from all power sources before opening the case to replace the fuse. Use only a fuse of the specified type and rating.
6.4 Almacenamiento
When not in use, store the meter in its soft vinyl carrying case in a dry, dust-free environment. If storing for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage.
7. Solución de problemas
- No reading or inaccurate reading:
- Check if the meter is set to the correct function and range.
- For current measurements, ensure only a single conductor is within the clamp jaws and they are fully closed.
- For resistance measurements, check the 1.5V AAA battery and fuse.
- Needle does not zero:
- Utilice el VA ZERO or Ω ZERO knob to adjust the needle.
- If unable to zero for resistance, replace the 1.5V AAA battery.
