5. Configuración e instalación

5.1 Ubicación recomendada

For optimal protection, install smoke detectors in every sleeping area and on every level of your home, including the basement. For best results, place detectors in the center of the ceiling. Avoid placing detectors near windows, doors, or air vents where drafts might interfere with smoke detection.

• Install at least one smoke detector on each floor, including the basement.
• Install a smoke detector in each bedroom.
• Install a smoke detector in the hallway outside of each sleeping area.
• For sloped ceilings, install the detector within 3 feet (0.9 meters) of the peak but not within the apex of the ceiling.

5.2 Instrucciones de montaje

1. Elegir la ubicación: Select a suitable location on the ceiling or wall, away from corners and obstructions.

3. Perforar agujeros: Drill two holes at the marked positions. Insert the wall anchors if mounting into drywall or plaster.

5. Activate Battery: Ensure the 10-year lithium battery is properly activated. For some models, this involves twisting the detector onto the mounting bracket, which activates the battery.

6. Instrucciones de funcionamiento

If a non-emergency alarm occurs (e.g., from cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence the alarm by pressing the Test/Silence button. The alarm will silence for approximately 8-10 minutes, after which it will automatically reset. If smoke is still present, the alarm will sound again.
