1. Open your Z-Wave gateway hub's mobile application or interface.
2. Initiate the "Add Device" or "Pair Device" process within your hub's settings.
3. Locate the QR code on the back of your First Alert alarm unit.
4. Use your hub's app to scan the QR code. The Smart Start feature will automatically begin the pairing process.
5. Follow any on-screen prompts from your hub's application to complete the setup.
6. Once successfully paired, you should receive real-time notifications in your app when smoke or carbon monoxide is detected.

5. Operando
