1. Introducción

2. Configuración e instalación

2.1 Instalación del controlador

Before connecting the module, ensure the necessary drivers for the PL2303GS chip are installed on your operating system. Drivers are typically available for Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, and 11. 2.2 Conexión de hardware

The module provides standard UART pins for connection to your target device. Proper connection of these pins is crucial for successful communication.

  • VCCIO: Power output for the target device. Selectable via jumper.
  • Tierra: Ground connection. Connect to the ground of your target device.
  • Transmitido: Transmit Data. Connect to the RXD (Receive Data) pin of your target device.
  • RxD: Receive Data. Connect to the TXD (Transmit Data) pin of your target device.

CAUTION: The module is compatible with TTL level only. To avoid any damage, please DO NOT direct connect it to RS232 circuit.

2.3 Logic Level Selection

The module supports various logic levels for compatibility with different microcontrollers. The VCCIO voltage can be configured using the onboard jumper.

  • VCCIO - 5V: Set the jumper to the 5V position for 5V output.
  • VCCIO - 3.3V: Set the jumper to the 3.3V position for 3.3V output.
  • Open Jumper: If the jumper is removed, the module will be powered from the target board, supporting 1.8V/2.5V/3.3V/5V logic levels.

3. Operación

3.1 Indicadores LED

The module includes three LED indicators to provide visual feedback on its operating status:

  • PWR (potencia): Illuminates when the module is powered on.
  • TXD (transmisión de datos): Flashes when data is being transmitted from the module to the target device.
  • RXD (Receive Data): Flashes when data is being received by the module from the target device.

3.2 Transmisión de datos

Once connected and drivers are installed, you can use a serial terminal program on your computer to communicate with your target device. Ensure the baud rate, data bits, parity, and stop bits are correctly configured in your serial utility to match your target device's settings.
