5. Instrucciones de funcionamiento
5.1. Performing a Brake Fluid Test
- Prepare el vehículo: Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is off. Locate the brake fluid reservoir.
- Clean the Reservoir Area: Carefully clean around the brake fluid reservoir cap to prevent contaminants from entering the system.
- Remove Reservoir Cap: Gently remove the brake fluid reservoir cap.
- Encendido: Presione el ENCENDIDO/APAGADO button to turn on the tester. The LCD display will illuminate.
- Seleccione el tipo de fluido: Presione el SELECCIONAR button repeatedly to choose the correct brake fluid type (DOT3, DOT4, or DOT5.1) for your vehicle. The corresponding LED will light up.
- Sonda de inmersión: Carefully immerse the flexible probe tip into the brake fluid reservoir. Ensure the probe is fully submerged in the fluid but does not touch the bottom or sides of the reservoir.
- Leer resultados:
- The LCD display will show the percentage of water content in the brake fluid.
- Simultaneously, the LED indicators will provide a quick visual assessment:
- BUENO (LED verde): Water content is below 1% (0.1% - <1%). Brake fluid is in good condition.
- WARNING (Yellow LED): Water content is between 1.5% and 2.5%. Brake fluid quality is deteriorating; consider replacement soon.
- STOP (Red LED): Water content is 3.0% or greater (>4%). Brake fluid is severely contaminated and requires immediate replacement.
- LOW BAT (Red LED): Indicates low battery power. Replace batteries for accurate readings.
- Quitar la sonda: Once the reading stabilizes, carefully remove the probe from the brake fluid.
- Limpiar sonda: Wipe the probe clean with a lint-free cloth.
- Apagado: Mantenga pulsado el ENCENDIDO/APAGADO Botón para apagar el probador.
- Replace Reservoir Cap: Securely replace the brake fluid reservoir cap.
