4. Configuración e instalación

Follow these steps to install your BRINKS Portable Security Door Lock:

Choose the Correct End: The portable door lock features two different-sized ends on the metal plate. Select the end that best fits the strike plate of your door. The smaller hole is for standard residential doors, while the larger opening is designed for bigger deadbolts, often found in hotels.
Insert into Strike Plate: With the door open, insert the chosen end of the metal plate into the door's strike plate (the metal plate on the door frame where the latch enters). Ensure it is securely seated.
Cierre la puerta: Gently close the door, making sure the metal plate remains in position within the strike plate. The door should close as much as possible without obstruction.
Secure the Blue Shield: Take the blue plastic shield, which is attached to the metal plate by a chain. Locate the heart-shaped slot on the metal plate closest to the door. Insert the circular metal slider on the back of the blue shield into this slot. Push it down firmly to secure it in place. Ensure the 'B' logo on the blue shield faces the doorknob.
