2. Información de seguridad

Operating a portable generator involves potential hazards. Adhere to all safety warnings and instructions to prevent injury or property damage.

  • Peligro de monóxido de carbono: Generators produce carbon monoxide (CO), an odorless, colorless, and poisonous gas. Operate the generator outdoors only, far away from windows, doors, and vents. Never operate in an enclosed space. The integrated COsense® technology is designed to detect dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and automatically shut down the generator, but it is not a substitute for safe operation.
  • Peligro de incendio: Fuel is highly flammable. Store fuel in approved containers in a well-ventilated area. Do not refuel a hot or running engine. Ensure proper ventilation and clearance around the generator during operation.
  • Peligro de descarga eléctrica: Never operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly grounded. Do not connect the generator directly to your home's electrical system without a transfer switch installed by a qualified electrician.

  1. Assemble Handle and Wheels: Attach the handle and wheel kit to the generator frame as per the instructions provided with the kit. This enhances portability.
  2. Agregue aceite de motor: The generator is shipped without engine oil. Place the generator on a level surface. Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick. Slowly pour the provided engine oil into the oil fill opening until the oil level reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill. Securely replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  3. Conecte la batería: Connect the positive (+) battery cable (red) to the positive (+) battery terminal, then connect the negative (-) battery cable (black) to the negative (-) battery terminal. Ensure connections are tight.
  4. Choose Fuel Type: Decide which fuel source you will use (gasoline, liquid propane, or natural gas).
  5. Añadir combustible (gasolina): If using gasoline, ensure the generator is off and cool. Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane) up to the fill neck, but do not overfill. Securely close the fuel cap.
  6. Connect Fuel (Propane/Natural Gas): If using liquid propane, connect the LP hose with regulator to the generator's LP inlet and to a propane tank. Ensure all connections are tight. If using natural gas, connect the natural gas line to the generator's natural gas inlet. Consult a qualified professional for natural gas connections.

6. Instrucciones de funcionamiento

Always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from any structures, and on a level surface.

Arranque del generador (Arranque eléctrico)

  1. Garantizar la seguridad: Verify all electrical loads are disconnected from the generator.
  2. Seleccionar combustible: Turn the fuel selector dial to the desired fuel type (Gasoline, LP, or NG).
  3. Abrir la válvula de combustible: Open the fuel valve for the selected fuel source. For LP, open the valve on the propane tank. For NG, ensure the natural gas supply is open.
  4. Estrangulador (si corresponde): If starting a cold engine, move the choke lever to the 'CHOKE' position.
  5. Arrancar el motor: Turn the Off/Run/Start switch to the 'START' position and hold until the engine starts. Once started, release the switch to the 'RUN' position.
  6. Estrangulador (si corresponde): Gradually move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position as the engine warms up.
  7. Conectar cargas: Once the engine is running smoothly, you can connect your electrical devices.

Parada del generador

  1. Disconnect Loads: Desconecte todas las cargas eléctricas del generador.
  2. Turn Off Fuel: For LP, close the valve on the propane tank. For gasoline, turn the fuel valve to the 'OFF' position. Allow the generator to run until it runs out of fuel (this helps prevent carburetor issues). For NG, turn off the natural gas supply.
  3. Apagar el motor: Once the engine stops or after the fuel has been shut off, turn the Off/Run/Start switch to the 'OFF' position.

Información de tiempo de ejecución

Approximate runtimes at 50% load:

  • Motor a gasolina: Hasta 9.5 horas
  • Propane Powered: Hasta 4.5 horas
  • Alimentado por gas natural: Runtime varies based on home gas line pressure and demand.

7. Mantenimiento

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your generator. Refer to the full owner's manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.

  • Inspeccionar la bujía: Check the spark plug annually or every 100 hours. Clean or replace if fouled or worn. Ensure proper gap (.030 inches).
  • Inspeccionar el sistema de combustible: Revise periódicamente las líneas de combustible y las conexiones para detectar fugas o daños.
  • Generador limpio: Keep the generator clean and free of debris. Ensure cooling fins are clear for proper airflow.
  • Mantenimiento de la batería: Keep the battery charged and terminals clean.
