Remove the battery cover on the transmitter to access the dip switches. Use a small pen or screwdriver to slide them to your preferred 'ON' or 'OFF' (or UP/DOWN) positions. Ensure the receiving unit in the ceiling fan has its corresponding switches set to the exact same positions before restoring power.
If the remote operates the fan or light kit when up close but not from a distance, try adjusting the brown antenna wire on the receiver. Placing the antenna wire higher up and outside the metal junction box can greatly improve radio frequency reception.
